Physis Ingredients was founded in 2017, as a subsidiary company of Horizon S.A. (https://orizon-ate.gr/). In parallel with its activities in the energy sector for more than 25 years, Horizon chose to invest in the agrifood sector. Αt a time where there is a constantly increasing demand for “clean label”, Physis Ingredients chose to utilize plant raw materials for the production of innovative natural ingredients with targeted actions.

The company, wanting to have full supervision of the quality and the production process, started its journey from the field. After years of research, aromatic & medicinal plants were chosen as raw material, since they offer multiple processing possibilities, while the great Greek biodiversity and variety of endemic species offers possibilities for innovation. Thus, since 2017, the company holds collaborations with producers for contractual crops of aromatic & medicinal plants.

Meanwhile, looking for innovation, the company turned to research & development of know-how. Since 2017, it holds collaboration with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for the development of custom innovative products for food, cosmetics, neutraceuticals and animal feed industries.
